Welcome
My intent in writing this blog is to provide you, its readers and subscribers, with relevant information about the housing market on the Jersey Shore, hence the title. Since the “Jersey Shore” means different things to different people, I am going to concentrate on Avon-by-the-Sea, Spring Lake, Sea Girt, Belmar, Bradley Beach and Ocean Grove specifically.
I’ve been fortunate enough to live here all of my life and to have raised my children here. (I used to tell them how lucky they were, but I don’t think it was until their teenage years that they actually realized it.) Having had the opportunity in a former position to travel all over the world, I realize what a great part of the world this area of the Jersey Shore is.
While, like the rest of the country, the housing market here has been adversely effected by the economic downturn, prices of homes in the waterfront communities did not experience the dramatic decreases other areas of the country experienced. I’ll get into more specifics in subsequent postings. Suffice it to say that “God isn’t creating anymore Ocean” and the experience of living in waterfront communities is a driving force behind the relative minimal decline in home prices on the Northern Jersey Shore.
That’s it for now. I hope that you will stop often.
